#1 – Decrease in Movement
Although a decreased activity level in dogs is strongly linked to aging, it is more pronounced during their final days. An old pup may stop being enthusiastic about going for long walks, jumping around, and playing.
But a dog that is about to pass away may calmly lie at the same spot for long hours or sleep for most of the day or night. Even if the elderly pooch tires to stand, the limbs would mostly fail under the body’s weight due to lack of energy.
What can you do? Create a cool, calm, and cozy corner in your home for your old pup and keep it shaded. Or you can also offer them a space in your own bedroom. This will make your dog feel comfortable as they’re surrounded by other members of the family.
