Unlike humans, when your dog is in pain, it’s pretty easy to miss most of the time. Dogs don’t complain about their aching back all the time, they don’t yell out when they’ve fallen or stepped on something pointy, and they’ll never tell that a leg hurts or that they’re having a terrible headache.
Dogs and puppies depend on their owner to know what’s bothering them and fix it, unfortunately, pet owners almost always miss the whole thing. Just because they can’t talk it out, it doesn’t mean that they’re not suffering.
And while obvious signs, such as limping or whining every time they put pressure on leg area, certainly show that your pooch is suffering, symptoms aren’t always so clear, particularly if your dog is one of the “walk it off” type.
However, there are numerous subtle things that you can watch for if you’re worried that your pooch may be hurting more than she/he’s letting on.
