#10 – Labrador Retriever
The Labrador Retriever is the most common dog breed in the US. This alone is a very good reason to steal this breed; Labs are stolen mostly because they’re easily sold to an unsuspecting public. Thieves take advantage of these dogs’ easygoing nature and willingness to follow commands.
Like other large-sized pups, Labrador retrievers are commonly taken from kennels or yards during the night by small gangs, but, dangerously, an emerging trend of a robbery at burglary and gunpoint is increasing.
What makes it difficult to get back your stolen pet is that you need to prove to the police that the dog has been stolen and not simply gone missing. So it’s recommended to have your furry friend microchipped.
