4. How to make your dog behave around other dogs

Teaching a dog to walk amongst other dogs can be a hard task, especially if your dog doesn’t live with other pets or is anti-social. You should understand is that your dog is reacting out of fear. Whenever they see other dogs, it doesn’t matter if they are smaller or bigger than them, they will still sense danger and might want to attack, bark, or start pulling the leash. What you need to do is try your best to expose your dog to other dogs from a safe distance. If your dog is not used to socializing with other dogs, then ask another dog parent to meet you at your house or another safe place and introduce your dog to theirs. Start by letting them see each other from a distance (remember that both dogs should have their leash on) and then start approaching each other. Whenever you feel a sudden movement or a bad reaction, stop walking. Let things calm down and continue.
