1. Try to keep your dog busy at home
Physical activity is mandatory for any healthy dog, and at home, they will accumulate a lot of energy. Get creative and find new ways to drain that energy with indoor activities. If you have a garden or a backyard, you can play standard dog games, like fetch or chase the prey. However, if you have little to no space, you can always use your imagination and come up with fun dog games that can be done indoors, like a game of hide and seek where you hide their favorite dog treat and have them look for it. This last game will stimulate their body and their brain since you can use the same “hot” and “cold” clues that you use with people, which will force an association in their minds – plus, it is a great chance to train the “stay and come commands. Remember, a stimulated dog is a happy dog.
