2. Using Your Dog’s Name When You Are Mad
One of the best ways to make your dog smile is through human contact – the love of a dog is unconditional, and when you call them, they expect to receive affection. However, if you start using their name to call them when you are mad at them, and when they come to you, you throw them in their crate as punishment, they will start associating their name with something bad. They don’t realize that time passes, and between you calling them, and them coming to you, they will only be able to associate coming to you as doing something wrong. You should find a gentle command to make your dog come to you, instead of using their name. Their name should only be used for good things, so they don’t start fearing you whenever they hear it and start engaging in aggressive dog behavior.
