2. The Ice Cream Contains Dangerous Ingredients.
Ice cream flavors like vanilla should be safe for most dogs, but other flavors can put your pooch’s life at risk. And this includes products with chocolate chunks, chocolate ice cream, etc.
Keep in mind that a toxic dose of chocolate can give your dog the following symptoms:
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Muscle tremors
- Hyperactivity
- Cardiac arrhythmia
- Heart failure
- Death
However, keep in mind that flavored chocolate ice cream is not the only flavor you should avoid giving to your dog. There are other flavors that could equally make your dog feel sick. For example, coffee-flavored ice cream should be on the “NO” list. It contains caffeine and can lead to the same symptoms as chocolate toxicity in addition to other symptoms like seizure and collapse.
