3. Teaching The Rules
When it comes to games to play with your dog, they all have some rules that your dog needs to understand. Fetch wouldn’t be “fetch” if your dog ran for the ball but never came back to return it. Tug of war won’t be a game if your dog doesn’t fight for the rope. These are just some examples that show you that even the most uncomplicated games need rules to work properly. After introducing them to the objects, you should take the game step by step. Take tug of war, for example, all you need to make your dog latch on to the rope is filling its end with some delicious peanut butter. But when it comes to playing fetch, you might have to throw the ball and run towards it, so your dog follows you and so on.
