5. Time to learn new tricks!
Now that you’ve gathered all the knowledge about how a training class should look like, it’s time to figure out what you’re going to teach your new pup! There are many unique tricks to teach your dog, but we encourage you to work on those when your dog grows up. Puppies are not as capable of performing huge tricks because they’re only babies. We advise you to train them with the basics first. Sitting down, rolling over, barking on command, and staying put in one place are useful behaviors that you should encourage from the beginning. The best way to teach a puppy is to be gentle and playful with them. For the barking on command trick, show them a treat but don’t hand it over right away, make them ask for it by barking. When they do, or they almost do it, encourage this behavior, and give them some treats. Repeat this until they barks on your command! Now that you’ve learned how to prepare your puppy for training, all that is left to do is start working on it every single day! To have your dog learn something new in one week, you have to put the effort to give them all your attention during practice. However, do not overwhelm them! Puppies are smart and curious, but they can also be easily distracted or get in a bad mood. Just follow these tips and you’ll see your pooch grow up to perform amazing dog tricks in the future!
