6. Good water temperature
Lukewarm water is key. For us, we tend to keep the water hot around winter days, and during the summer, we’re fine showering with cold water, but for our little friends, both of these options can cause quite a shock to your dog. You should treat your dog like a baby, grab a water thermometer, and make sure the water temperature is spot on!
7. No slippery floors
This is a key element that a lot of people tend to forget. As you’re aware, tub floors are usually very slippery. That’s why we end up buying those carpets to add some stability, so we don’t fall whenever we step onto them. If a dog is new to bathing, he’ll feel unsafe as soon as he sets foot on the surface of the tub, which will lead to immediate panic. Whenever we feel a slippery floor, our anxiety rises. For a dog, the same happens, except it’s 10x worse. A simple mat or a towel are quick ways to fix this problem!
