So without any further ado, let’s talk about 5 ways on how to help your dog from fearing veterinarians.

1. Make Sure To Visit The Vet Socially

One of the reasons your dog is scared of going to the vet is because they only go there when they’re sick or need a vaccine, so not the best reasons. This makes them associate going to the vet with pain and all sort of bad feelings. What you need to do is learn how to socialize your dog with the vet, the location, and even the receptionist. Of course, your dog won’t be up for socializing if he’s feeling sick, that’s why you should take him there even when there’s no reason to. If you happen to live nearby your vet, walking your dog on that street and casually saying hi to the receptionist is a great way to get your dog used to that place and people who work there, making him form good feelings about it. And of course, don’t forget to reward him with treats after!
