3. They Make Eye Contact
A dog’s eye expression can tell a lot about how they feel. When a dog feels fear or sad towards you, he won’t have the courage to look you in the eye normally, and if they do, they’ll probably have that scared look on their face. Think about it. If you’re nervous around someone, you’ll probably avoid eye contact. But if you’re comfortable with someone, you won’t have any trouble looking into their eyes. Some studies affirm that when you look at your dog in the eye, you increase your bond with each other. This is scientifically proven since dogs who do this show high levels of oxytocin, known as the love hormone, but they’re not the only ones, owners show it as well!
