9. Never leave your dog alone inside a car
It doesn’t matter if you’re just gone for 5 minutes. Your dog should never be unattended inside a locked car. Cars heat up super quickly, and dogs don’t have the same type of resistance as humans do. Many dogs end up dying from overheating every single day. And if they don’t die, they may end up with other health issues like brain damage. Having your window slightly open won’t solve the problem either. You should either leave your dog at home or take him with you. If none of these options works, it’s always best to strap his leash near the car with some water near him. In the end, you’re bound to make mistakes, and if you noticed you do any of the things above, you shouldn’t feel like a bad owner. Nobody is born with knowledge. It’s something you acquire bit by bit over your lifetime. Focus on changing for the better. If needed, consult your vet or other friends with pets and expand your knowledge, so you’re able to provide a great life to your dog!
