6. Avoid choke collars as well as pulling your dog leash
How many times do you see dog owners pulling on their dog’s leash? Probably loads of times, maybe you do it as well! Sometimes you may pull because they were about to eat garbage, or maybe they were fighting another dog. The truth is, you’re pulling your dog’s leash for a good reason; you’re just trying to protect them. However, regularly pulling your dog’s leash can lead to a fractured neck or even cause your dog to feel sick. If you’re trying to discipline your dog, do it by training, not yanking his leash. A choke dog collar is also a terrible option, resulting in a torture effect and sometimes even death to teach your dog not to pull! Instead, opt by adding stability and safety by using a dog harness. This way, if you have to pull, you won’t be compromising your dog’s neck since the force you’ll be applying will distribute equally through their chest, shoulders, and back.
