Dog anxiety: what it is and how to reduce it

Every dog gets a little sad when their primary caregiver leaves for work in the morning, and extremely happy when he returns at the end of the day.

That’s normal and a good indicator of a healthy and caring relationship. However, if your dog often destroys pieces of furniture and shoes, tries to escape (scratches doors and windows), barks and drools excessively, and urinates/defecates in the house when left alone, it probably is dealing with separation anxiety.
