Watch out for ice hazards. Pavement ice may cause falls and injuries, while thawed ice followed by frigid weather can harm foot pads.
Consider buying dog footwear. Dogs with long hair on their feet can easily accumulate snow there and form uncomfortable ice-balls that can damage the tender skin between the dogs’ toes and at the edges of their footpads. Dog booties can be challenging but most pups adapt.
