 Watch out for ice hazards. Pavement ice may cause falls and injuries, while thawed ice followed by frigid weather can harm foot pads.

 Consider buying dog footwear. Dogs with long hair on their feet can easily accumulate snow there and form uncomfortable ice-balls that can damage the tender skin between the dogs’ toes and at the edges of their footpads. Dog booties can be challenging but most pups adapt.
