2. Get the information of the dog’s owner
As soon as you get the dogs separated, look for the dog’s owner and try to get their name and contact information. You can think of it as a fender bender between two cars, so it’s necessary to have a way to contact the dog’s owner in case there are dangerous injuries. Also, ask if the dog is vaccinated.
Usually, the other owner should be willing to help with any veterinary bills, and depending on the circumstances of the dog bite, animal control or law enforcement might need to get involved.
