#1 – Make Sure Your Dog Is Small Enough to Fit Under The Seat

Not all dogs can be brought along with on a plane. There are certain sizes that are tolerated by airlines, and certain sizes that are not tolerated. You can’t bring a Great Dane, for example, with you on your trip.

However, if you have a small dog, you don’t have to worry. Just make sure that you buy a small dog carrier, on that can fit under your seat. If it doesn’t fit, you could have some trouble.

#2 – Make Sure That Your Dog Has the Right Temperament

The success or failure of taking pets on planes boils down to their temperament. If they have the right temperament, the trip will go very smoothly; if they don’t have the right temperament, however, you could have trouble during the flight.

If your dog has high levels of anxiety, it’s advisable not to put it 30,000 feet above sea level. Therefore, you should consult your vet before traveling with a dog on a plane.
