No, it’s not called starving your dog; it’s called avoiding any nasty situations. And you don’t have to worry; your dog can stay without water for a few hours.
Feeding your dog before you board the plane makes it more susceptible to stomach problems, especially if it gets sick from the plane or eats something that could cause it trouble, such as diarrhea and stomach cramps. Treat the stomach of your dog as you would treat your stomach!
