5. Always meet the pet before making a decision

While an online pet store can be inviting, it’s not enough to make a decision. Besides assuring that the dog you saw is real, seeing the pet in person before buying or adopting is required. What if it’s not what you expected? What if this particular dog is not as friendly as you thought? What if you don’t get along? It’s true that pets often pick their owners and not the other way around. There’s nothing like spending some time with many dogs that you’re interested in a pick one based on the real experience rather than the imagination of it. A scammer will do everything in their power to keep you from visiting the pet because there’s no pet. If you feel like there’s some resistance on the seller side, think twice before trusting them.
