4. Hyperthyroidism in dogs
The hyperthyroidism disease is very rare amongst dogs, it’s most common with cats, but it can still be diagnosed in certain dog breeds. Hyperthyroidism causes have to do with the overproduction of the thyroid hormone – thyroxine. This makes the body have an increased metabolism, which leads to hyperthyroidism symptoms like mood swings, nervousness, swelling, a fast heart rate, and increased appetite. Again, if you want to improve your dog’s health and care about your dog’s life as much as your own, a visit to the doctor every now and then is the least you can do to make sure your dog is healthy while also avoiding being diagnosed too late in case he’s not.
