Even if you have a happy and healthy dog that has never shown any signs of distress around children, you shouldn’t leave them unsupervised. This is a generic rule, but it becomes more important if we are talking about dogs who are actually afraid of being around children. A dog who is afraid of being around kids can become unpredictable, which can not only result in stress for the puppy, but also in actual harm to the child.
