4. You feel lonely in the world without your pet

Remember that you should not adopt a pet if you’re doing it to stop being lonely. While having a dog or cat can improve your mental help or help you cope with temporary loneliness, it is unhealthy to get too attached to them.

Again a reasonable degree of attachment is harmless, but if the attachment interferes with your daily functioning, you should certainly take a step back and reflect.
