8. Don’t Be Inconsistent

The key to a healthy dog is consistency. If you’re on a path to transform your dog into his healthier version, keep in mind that this won’t be a weekend mission. It is an objective that will last forever! Instead of forcing your dog to do a marathon every Sunday, why not encourage him to walk for 10 minutes every single day? The second option will bring more benefits than the first one, resulting in more resistance, while the first one would result in injuries and stress. At the end of the day, every dog breed is different, which is why having a professional opinion is so important! Don’t self-diagnose your dog and consider getting a dog health insurance if you don’t have one already. Insurance can be very useful if your dog is older or requires a lot of medical treatments. Besides this, keep in mind that your dog doesn’t know how to communicate, so it’s up to you to take things slow and pay extra attention to them to see how they’re feeling and dealing with things. Take long breaks and reward your dog as much as you can, with treats or a simple hug. They’ll really appreciate it!
